Simple Male Cards

Today I thought I would do something a bit different and very simple just to show how a few items can make some male cards.
We all hate making them, so here are two ideas.

First up, I have used the Rock Pool Friends toppers by Kaisercraft and the matching Paper Pad

The second is the ships wheel die from the new set of sea charms from Die-namics.
The papers are from the Stella-di-mare A4 pad by Serafina.
These papers seem to be some of my favourites at the moment!!

Both of the sentiments are stamps from a set called So beachy by CC Designs.

I hope this has showed you just how easy it can be to whip up some cards.

Inky Chloe Stems

Hey Peeps :)

I'm running a little late today, what can I say? School holidays and sunshine!

So, I thought I'd share something I made the last time I got inky and messy with my Cosmic Shimmer Misting Inks. I've used the Summer Breeze Set, which includes pink, blue and purple shades.

Hero Arts Clings Newspaper Eiffel Tower is fast becoming one of my favourite stamps when I'm playing with this style of card. I love that the collage is made for you already. I wanted a slightly softer image so I stamped onto textured card.

Chloe Stems also has to be one of my favourite Memory Box Dies right now. Kitty has recently had a delivery of some of the newest dies, worth taking a looksie in Store!

Otherwise, I've just finished off with a little kraft card I put through a ribbler, some pearls and twine. Job done!

Have a great weekend.

Vienna and her Vespa

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today with a bright and summery card for you!  I hope you are having a good week so far and the Sun is shining where you are. I am really enjoying the warm weather, it is so lovely to drive to work and home in the blazing sunshine instead of the rain. It makes such a difference to my day. I only wish I had a Vespa like Vienna on my card! I have used one of the lovely new Uptown Girl images on my card this week. She is very glamorous and is available to buy here from My Mum's Craft Shop.

I coloured Vienna in with my Promarkers to match these gorgeous Echo Park papers from the 'So Happy Together' pad. I love the papers in this collection. They are a great mix of papers with some also suitable for Men's cards as well as the feminine flowery papers. I added some funky ribbon and a button from The Ribbon girl and some stick on pearls and finished with a Stamping Bella sentiment and some little papers flowers to match the bright summery colours. I hope you have a lovely Thursday! I have a day off on Friday! I can't wait!

Baby Your A FIrework

What a lovely sunny day it is today - finally summer is here even if only for a few days! Hope the sun is shinning where you are too :) Today i have a card to show you featuring one of the new CC Designs Stamps... i realy wish i had made my own sentiment saying 'Baby Your A Firework' as i kept singing that song whilst colouring it in...for obvious reasons ;)
So this stamp is Sweet November Betsy - shes fab isn't she and can be used for all occasions!
I coloured her with my Copics, think my colouring is getting a bit better now :)
The papers are all from the Kanban Cool Britannia Collection as is the sentiment.
I then added some Card Candi and did a bit of faux stitching around the image to make it pop.

Don't forget we also do a loyalty scheme on the website and for every £100 you spend you get a £5 voucher - as tesco say, every little helps!

Also it's Win Wednesdays over on our Facebook Page, there is a £5 voucher up for grabs!

Spring Bringer

Yes, I'm prepared to try anything to improve the awful weather we have because of The Jet Stream. If it means making a card with a cute topper fromThe Hobby House Wee Stamps Toppers Spring Bringer, so be it! I love these panels for occasions when a pretty card is needed, fast.

I've teamed this sweetie with papers from Echo Park Sweet Day, which have a lovely feminine feel to them. The colours seem to work really well with these panels too. A couple of pearls and some seam binding from my stash and it's job done. Time to hunt out the suncream...

If you've not been over to Store lately, Kitty has had a lot of deliveries this week. Memory Box Dies and Marianne Design Dies have arrived just today!

Have a great weekend :)

A Felt Owl cushion

Hello Everyone! Jane here today to share what I have been playing with this week! I have been playing with my felts and one of the new Sizzix dies which arrived last week at My Mum's Craft shop.
I have used the Owl die which is very popular and has already sold out but there a loads of dies in this collection that would be suitable for this Project.

I started by cutting out a large scalloped circle to build the Owl design on after I had cut out all the pieces from different coloured felts. I managed to sew all the pieces together using my machine apart from the little feet which I had to sew by hand. I added a little heart cut from bias binding and then sewed the scalloped circle onto a felt square. I edged the cushion with bias binding before sewing it together. The little buttons for the eyes are from The Ribbon Girl. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

You Are My Anchor

Hello everyone, Kitty here! I have a girlie card to show you - but no pink in sight!!!
Who says blues & turquoise can't be girlie eh?!
This is of course one of the new A La Modes called You Anchor Me. You know how much i love my A La Modes, so i really couldn't wait to play with this beauty! I coloured her with my Copics and dusted some ink around her to blend her in a bit better - white just looked to sharp.
The papers are an old My Minds Eye Paper Pad - i am finally getting round to using my papers lol.
I then added a Cheery Lynn Swirl, a bit of lace & some flowers. The sentiment was stamped and cut with my Dienamics Flag Stax - i just rounded the edge! The wheel is from Dienamics Sea Charms.

Catch you all soon :)

Flora the Cyclist

Where did that weekend go?! I don't know, Kitty will be stocking Christmas stuff soon! ;) Have you seen the Mulberry Wood Cuteness?

But that's enough of that, today, I'd like to share a card I made with some 'vintage' My Minds Eye Paper. This paper is from Lost and Found Blush. (Don't forget, if you can't find what you're looking for, give Kitty a shout, she'll be happy to help.)

I (reluctantly) cut this up so that the Eiffel Tower sits in the corner. But you could recreate something similar with any paper you like and Hero Arts Newspaper Eiffel Tower. If you're feeling more Queen's Jubilee than Tour de France, you could use Hero Arts London Background. Either way, paper, stamp and a little embossing makes a quick and easy background for Stamping Bella Uptown Girl Flora the Cyclist.

Job done!

Have a great week...

Some Kaisercraft Inspiration...and a gorgeous Baby girl!

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today with my regular Thursday post showing you what I have made this week. The past few days, I have been playing with some of the gorgeous Tigerlily Kaisercraft papers and die cuts which are available  at My Mum's Craft shop. I first made a little card.
I used a Gorjuss girl stamp and coloured her in with my Promarkers to match the papers. I used a simple layout to show off the papers and die cut a topper using the Spellbinders postage die.

I stitched around the edges and added it on top of the flower paper which had been wrapped with bias binding before adding it to the card. I added lots of flowers and pearls and finished with a little punched butterfly. I love these papers so much and the die cuts are great for decorating so many projects. When I was introduced to Papercrafting many years ago, I started with Scrapbooking but have not scrapped any photos for years so I thought I would give it a go using the scraps of papers I had left over.

I used a photo of my gorgeous Goddaughter Poppy. She will be Christened in 10 days and I can't wait for the big day! Here she is looking adorable in a very pretty little flowery dress and has fallen asleep while having a cuddle! The butterfly border is also from the paper pad as is the 'Dream' title.
I really enjoyed making this page and can't wait to do a few more now! Have a lovely Thursday!

Hexagons

Hello peeps.   I am well behind today..... I had to have injections for my asthma again today and since getting home from the hospital I have been sound asleep.... its a side effect of the drugs.  But I am here now, all be it in bit of a fuzzy mess but its way past time to show you what I have been up to.

This week I have used one of my new dies.  Its the hexagons from die-namics.

Die-namics Hexagons
I have used these with my favourite papers of the moment.  They are the stella-del-mare collection from Serafina.

I made a simple 'thanks' card.  I say simple.... its very straight forward but it does take a bit of time.

I finished this off with one of the co-ordinating stickers.

I also then went on to make a coaster,

I started this by deciding on the patter I wanted and then cut all the pieces out.

I built the pattern up on the plain pink paper trying to keep an even gap between each hexagon.  (not as easy as it sounds!!)  Once the paper was covered and dried I glued it to the MDF coaster...... setting it slightly 'squew- wiff'' to add interest!
I also covered the edges with paper making sure everything was stuck down really well.

As for finishing off...... I am going to coat it with either glossy accents or some sort of PVA/ varnish mixture. I want to be able to use it and have the papers protected at the same time.   My glossy accents have gone very 'yellowy' where I have had the bottle so long and therefore didn't want to spoil this by covering it in that.

A bit of Art Journaling

Well i have been a right busy bee this week! We have had tons of stuff arrive in the shop this week so i have been busy busy packing orders and trying to make up samples for the shop boards! Yesterday evening however i thought it was time for some 'me' time, so out came the inks and my brand new journal here is what happened...
I am so pleased with how it turned out in the end :)
So i used my Dylusions for the background, lots of stencils & some paint.
My fav stamp by Dina Wakley had to be on here, obviously (we will have this arriving in the shop soonish!!) The letters are done with Kaisercraft Grunge Alphabet Stamps - bargain at only £5.99! I also added some butterflies from Steampunk Dreams Stamp Set.
Love, love, love Art Journaling atm its my therapy and even better is shopping for it ;)

Tutu Sweet!

Morning :)

I thought I'd share a clean and simple card I made the other day...

The squares of paper were really quick as I cheated and used a punch. The papers are Kaisercraft Fine & Sunny. This is a lovely paper pad, full of scrummy papers, some of them with a varnish finish, and there are four sheets of die cuts at the back too. In fact, I like them so much, I'm finiding it hard to bring myself to cut them!

I have a soft spot for Lulu. This one is from the Kraftin Kimmie Lovely Lulu Set and so is the sentiment. She's finished off with a spot of doodling, and some Fuchsia Gems. Job done.

Have a great weekend.

Playing with Distress Inks and Inkylicious stamps

Hello Everyone! Jane here with my usual Thursday post. I have something a bit different for you today. I have been playing with some of the gorgeous new Inkylicious stamps which arrived last month at My Mum's Craft shop. I tried for the very first time blending the inks directly onto the card masking the edges with a Post-it note to get a clean frame around the inked area. I applied various distress inks using a brush and then stamped over the inked background with the Inkylicious tiny script stamp.

I stamped some Dandelions in Distress inks using the Make a Wish set . I used two shades of inks to give the image some depth and then stamped a sentiment over the top with Archival ink.
I added a small wooden button and a stick on gem as a finishing touch. I hope this will inspire you to try some of the new Inky products that Kitty has in stock now. Have a lovely Thursday!
