Echo Park meets JOFY

Morning all :)

Faye here, bringing Echo Park week to a close. I thought I'd dig out one of my older pads, Sweet Day, I love the soft colours in this one. In fact, I love so many of the papers in this pad, I decided to try and use as many of them as I could in one card. Paper piecing was called for and therefore the new stamps from the JOFY at Paper Artsy Collection. I've used Collection 11 and Mini 13.  With a little paper duffing, this made for a lovely quick card... Job done!

Before I head off, Hot Cross Bunny's are calling me, I'd just like to wish you a Happy and Healthy Easter from everyone at My Mum's Craft Shop.

You Are Amazing

Hey everyone it's Shelly here with my card for this week.  Our theme this week is Echo Park which is fab because I just love their papers.

I inked this little beauty up as soon as I got her which is very unusual for me....this is Read All About It by Pure Innocence, it's a gorgeous little set that comes with five sentiments.

My Echo Park papers are from the Everyday Eclectic 6 x 6 pad and I've matted all my panels onto some raspberry coloured cardstock.  I've also paper pieced her chair and footstool using some of the paper so it ties in with the overall theme.  The rest of the image has been coloured with Copics

I've finished off with some dotty satin ribbon and a gorgeous resin flower, not the usual amount of embellishment from me but it lets the image do the talking!

Hope you all have a lovely day, please do pop by tomorrow for some more gorgeous DT inspiration.

Echo Park Day 2

Hey peeps! Hope you're keeping yourselves warm (those of you battling snow in the UK). The only good thing is that it's a good excuse for crafting!! What is up with the weather??!!! Come on, Spring!!!

Today is Day 2 of our theme of Echo Park papers...

I'm also showing you a new stamp from the latest Wild Rose Studio release- this is called Bunny With Cake. I've coloured him with copics and added a lyra shadow. The papers are Echo Park Sweet Little Girl. The sentiment is actually from a Cats Pajamas stamp available here cut out with Let's Chat speech bubble Dienamics. Finally added a fun spiral with the Looped Border Dienamics.

Close up! Yum! x

A Special Birthday for Echo Park Week

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and we have another great theme week for you this week. We will be showcasing Echo Park papers! Unfortunately the papers I have used on my card are no longer available in the shop but we still have lots of yummy pads in stock. You can find them all here.

I layered my patterned papers on to a red paper from the pad and then added stitching around the edges. The lovely stamp I have used and sentiment are from Wild Rose Studio and is called 'Bunny with cake' . I coloured the image with Promarkers and added some glitter to the icing. I added some gorgeous gingham ribbon and lots of lovely flowers and finished with a wooden button and butterfly.
Have a lovely Sunday.

Doodle Garden Party Time

Morning all :)

Can you believe it will be Easter next weekend? We had snow again this week and it's nearly April. I thought I'd make something with Spring colours to remind the weather what it's supposed to be doing!

The True Friends Paper Pad from Carta Bella is just perfect for Spring projects. I'd tell you I love this pad, but I seem to say that about most of my stash these days.

I've used one of the new My Favourite Things Doodle Garden Stamps. This one is called Party Time. Cute, huh? I can't wait to see what else this fab character gets upto in the next few months! ;)

Well, that's all from me today. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow, when Jane tells you what our next Themed Week is....

Just For You

Hi everyone it's Shelly here with my design for this week.

I love CC Designs stamps and this lovely lady is called Sugarplums Sassy Emma - isn't she gorgeous!  I've coloured her with Copics and mounted her onto my card with foam pads to make her stand out a bit more.

Have you seen all the gorgeous pads My Minds Eye have brought out lately?  I've used one of the newest 6 x 6 pads which is called My Girl and there isn't a paper in this pad not to love....in fact I used a bit of almost every one of them while trying to work out the design for my card lol !  so my lovely 6 x 6 pad is now a heap of scraps.  I've matted everything onto red cardstock to make it stand out and added faux stitching around the edges with red gel pen and white faux stitching on the red parts of the card.

The flower is Die-namics Pretty Posies which I have layered up using foam pads to give extra dimension.

I used a sketch as a guide for my layout but my card kind of evolved and doesn't resemble the sketch now in anyway but that's what I love about crafting, the way an idea evolves as you are working and ends up looking nothing like you imagined it would.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you all have a fab Wednesday.

Sew Cute!

Hallooo peeeps! Hope your Monday is off to a fab start! Today I'm going to show you a little Pure Innocence cuteness...

This is Pure Innocence Cute As A Button. I've coloured her with copics and laid down a lyra shadow at her feet. These papers are the latest MME release called Unforgettable. The sentiment is one of four that come with the main stamp and is cut out using the Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax. Finally I added some scalloping with the Simply Scallops border.

Love the cuteness of her outfit!

A JoFY canvas

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with something a bit different for me. I have embellished a little canvas using one of the new funky JoFy stamps which recently arrived at My Mum's Craft shop. I used Luminarte radiant rain paints to colour the canvas and stamped the corners with the fab stamp.

I wrapped some beautiful ribbon around the canvas and then stamped the image onto kraft card before cutting it out. I distressed the edges of my image panel with my distressing tool and ink before adding it to the card with foam pads. I added stickles glitter glue to two of the flowers on the image and a button tied with twine to the largest one and then decorated my canvas with wooden embellishments and punched butterflies, The little chit chat sticker sentiment is by Tim Holtz. This canvas is really tiny and I had so much fun making it, I have lots of canvasses lined up for future projects and I can't wait to get started on them! I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Ring, a ring, a roses...

Morning All :)

With the latest Die-Namics delivery flying off the shelf faster than Creme Eggs at a Choklit Convention, I thought I'd bring MTF Week here at the MMCS Blog to a close with some 'vintage' Die-Namics! But let's start with the zingy, springy papers, which are My Minds Eye Collectable Notable. I luuuuuuuuuurve these papers.

What are the dies? Well, I've used the Rolled Flower Die and Pretty Pocket Die and Stamp Set. Simples.

Have a great weekend playing with your new Die-Namics and don't forget to stop by our Open Day if you're local to us...

Sending Love and Hugs

Hi everyone, it's Shelly here, popping by to show you my creation for our MFT (My Favourite Things) week

I'm absolutely loving the new Doodle Garden stamps so I decided to use the Sweet Friend cutie for my card.  I've coloured her skin, hair and tights/shoes with my Copics and paper pieced her dress and hair band.

The papers are from Doodlebug and I just love the bright spring colours which are really cheerful, especially with all this snow around !

As always I've gone mad with the matting and layering and matted everything onto hot pink cardstock.

This is also my first real attempt at bow tying and I think I may need a little practice lol !

My little flower embellishment at the side is the smallest flower from the Die-namics Layered Rose die set.  This looks absolutely gorgeous when it's all layered up but it was just a bit too much for this card so I stuck with the mini one.

The sentiment is also from the set and is great because it could be used for so many different occasions.

Thanks for stopping by everyone, do pop back tomorrow to see what else is in store.

Hugs

My Favourite Things Stamps and Dies week

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I am so excited about this week's theme week on the My Mum's Craft shop blog as we will be sharing cards made with products from one of my Favourite craft brands...My Favourite Things! I just love all the MFT stamps, Pure Innocence in particular and my collection of Dienamics dies are always in my 'most used dies' basket on my desk.
I have used the adorable 'Cute as a Button' stamp for my card and coloured her in with my Promarkers and paper pieced her using some papers from the My Mind's Eye ' Collectable Remarkable' pad which I also used for my card.

I used lots of Dienamics dies on my card. The sentiment was stamped on a mini tag from the 'Notched tag' set, I covered the join between my two backing papers using the 'Looped Border' and my image panel was cut using the 'Jumbo Fishtail Stax'

Here is a close up of my image with her cute little button jar. I found a lovely green button in my stash which I added to the sentiment tag. I finished the card with some flowers both paper and a metal one and a fun miniature cotton reel. Make sure you join us next week for more My Favourite Things inspiration! Have a lovely Sunday!

Pretty in Pink

Hi everyone it's Shelly here with my first weekly post as Guest Designer for March.  I'm really excited to be part of the team this month and look forward to sharing my creations with you.

For my card this week I have used the gorgeous new Wild Rose Studio printed panels which are great if you don't always have time to colour an image.  They are also available as stamps too so you could colour them to suit.

I love using pink so kept that as the main theme of my card, along with a hint of turquoise just to break the pink monotony!

I've used Tilda papers on my card and I have faux stitched around my panels to make them pop a bit before matting everything onto pink cardstock.  I love lots of layering on my cards as you will see over the next couple of weeks lol.

I've used a hot pink doily and satin ribbon to tie in with the pink theme and I have then used the fabulously gorgeous (in fact this die is so fabulous I don't know how I've lived without it for so long!) Die-Namics Button Border die to make some button embellishments which I have tied in the centres with baker's twine.  What I love about this die is that you get the button border but it also gives you individual buttons that you can use as embellishments.

I am going to create a similar card for my mum for Mother' Day as I just know she will love this.

Have a great day everyone.

Smell The Flowers

Hello and welcome to my usual weekly post for My Mum's Craft Shop. We have had so many new products in lately (and more on the way) it's hard to choose what to use! I have had the new PaperArtsy Jofy Stamps sat on my desk for about a week waiting to be used and finally i thought yes now is the time!
OMG i knew i would love these stamps, i have so many more ideas for them too. This is the Jofy 09 Set. I love that they are simple and quirky and they don't need much else than a dash of colour to look fab.. i am thinking i might do a canvas with these next time. To create the background i just used some adirondack inks and a dreamweaver brush. I wanted it nice and pastel to make the flowers show up more. The sentiment also comes in this set which is all ez mounted already too!
